About
Present Paradox, the music project by David Kleinekottmann from Dortmund, explores of the often opaque nature of the present. The result is a fusion of melancholic and danceable elements, expansive and intimate at the same time, diverse and yet familiar. Since 2013, Kleinekottmann has been regularly releasing LPs/EPs that move between indie, experimental rock and electronica.
Early on, former Cocteau Twins bassist Simon Raymonde expressed his enthusiasm on British radio: "That's an exciting sound David is making!"*. And Thoralf Koß, editor-in-chief of Musikreviews.de, attests to Present Paradox's fine "feel for addictive melodies and poetic lyrics "*.
In 2016, David Kleinekottmann began bringing the sound of the Present Paradox music to the stage. Equipped with keyboard, guitar, sampler and a varied set, always ready to give his all on stage and sink into the songs. The German concert critic Captain's Dinner wrote about the last performance shortly before the outbreak of the 2020 pandemic: "A project that undoubtedly has international class and definitely deserves more attention"***.

Present Paradox's third Mini-Album
Genre: Alternative, Electronic
For Fans of: Radiohead, Atoms for Peace, Ghostpoet
Almost a year ago I released my second Minialbum Acute. Now I'm glad to announce that my third EP called My Map is finished.
My Map brings back all percussive sounds, guitars and syncopated beats from my debut Institutions. But it is more funky and bluesy. It starts off with a catchy bass-riff and palm muted guitar sounds and closes with the most hopeful track I've written until now: "I have my map still in pocket, it will guide me through, it will help me back".
With best regards
David Kleinekottmann
